JUST IN: Abure booted out as LP appoints new nat’l chairperson

The Labour Party of Nigeria has finally appointed Senator Esther Nenadi Usman as the Chairperson of the Caretaker Committee of the party.

Her appointment was announced during a stakeholders’ meeting held in Umuahia, the capital of Abia State, on Wednesday.

Also, former Senate Minority Deputy Leader, Senator Darlington Nwokocha from Abia Central will serve as the Secretary of the 29 member committee, expected to complete its task in 90 days.

The Caretaker Committee has been charged with the responsibility of rescuing the party from its current leadership crisis, and organize a convention where a new leadership of the party would emerge from the Ward to the national stage.
