JUST IN: Eguaveon steps down as Super Eagles coach

Mr Austin Eguaveon has officially stepped down as interim coach of Nigeria Super Eagles, according to media reports.

Eguaveon said his appointment was only meant for two matches, which he has now delivered.

“My mandate was for two games and it ends today (against Rwanda). I appreciate my players and the NFF leadership”, he said.

Meanwhile, his abrupt departure marks the end of his short stint, during which he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead the national team and acknowledged the support of the players and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
