Suspected political thugs have razed a section of the Eleme Local Government Area secretariat in Rivers State.
This is coming barely 24 hours after the newly elected Chairmen were sworn in on Sunday by Governor Sim Fubara.
The incident occurred shortly after the arrival of the new LGA chairman, Brain Gokpa, who visited the secretariat alongside councillors and supporters.
In a video sighted by Newsband Newspaper, many offices in the council area was seen going up in flames.
Meanwhile, former Ambassador Oji Ngofa, an indigene of Eleme confirmed the sad incident in a phone conversation.
Moreover, this further amplifies concerns about potential outbreak of violence in the area.
Police authorities in Rivers State are yet to issue a statement in respect to the development.
