A 17-year-old student of the University of Nigeria (UNN), Joy Eze, has been beaten to death by yet to be identified assailants.
Eze reportedly left her room for lectures but never returned again.
Her corpse was later recovered with tell-tale signs of violence.
The sad news was disclosed by Delta State based human rights activist, Harrison Gwamnishu.
Mr Harrison said it was not the first time such ugly incident is happening, citing at least two other related cases in the institution.
He recollected how a girl was called from the school to pick up a parcel sent to her but was later abducted and how a young man was also kidnapped from the school.
Harrison criticised the institution’s management for trying to cover up the incidents instead of doing something to tackle the situation.
He urged parents with daughters in UNN to call and warn them about how they conduct themselves on campus.
‘’If you have a daughter in UNN, call her and hold her ears. A lot of things are happening in that school and the school authority are not doing enough to see how they can manage it. and the ones happening, they cover it up. This girl went for lecture and never returned back.
“If you have a child in that school, caution them. Talk to them!”.
