President Bola Tinubu has pushed back calls by his critics to cut down his overbloated cabinet following the current economic situation in the country.
While speaking during his maiden media chat on Monday, Mr. Tinubu said he will not downsize his cabinet in order to reduce the cost of governance.
He argued that the current cabinet size was necessary to effectively address the diverse and complex challenges facing Nigeria.
According to President Tinubu, the inclusion of various ministers was vital for achieving his administration’s goals across multiple sectors.
“I am not ready to shrink” the size of my cabinet, Tinubu said.
The former Lagos governor argued that “efficiency” has been at the core of his selection of ministers.
