Police inspector found dead in hotel room after meeting online lover

A police inspector simply identified as Lawal Ibrahim from the Kwali Division, was found dead in a hotel in the Gwagwalada Area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

According to media reports, the unfortunate event occurred at Palasa Guest Inn last Thursday morning after the inspector reportedly met with a woman he had connected with online three months ago.

The inspector had invited the woman, Maryam Abba from Dutse, Jigawa State, to join him at the hotel.

The duo according a source checked into the hotel on Wednesday evening and engaged in intimate relations.

The following morning, around 6am, they reportedly had another round of intimacy, after which the inspector started breathing erratically and became unresponsive.

Worried by his condition, Maryam tried to revive him by sprinkling water but to no avail.

She quickly informed the hotel manager who contacted the Gwagwalada police division.

Officers arrived at the scene to find the lifeless body of the inspector. His remains were later taken to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, where doctors confirmed his death.

Authorities recovered several items from the hotel room, including watermelon, a suspected aphrodisiac drug, a phone charger, and the deceased’s police identity card.

Maryam has since been taken into police custody for questioning as investigations into the cause of death continue.
