Fintiri made this statement during a meeting of the National Reconciliation Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The meeting took place in Bauchi and included governors from the North East and other key stakeholders, fostering important discussions.

Fintiri emphasized that these policies are only causing more hardship for Nigerians, stating, “We always call on the Federal Government to reconsider some of these economic policies.”

He also underscored the responsibility that comes with holding a position of power.

According to Fintiri, governance must be based on trust and accountability, reflecting the needs of the citizens.

In addition, the governor called for policies that alleviate suffering, saying, “Whatever will make us cry must not be part of your policy.”

He asserted that the country belongs to its citizens, not to international financial institutions.
