**Abuja, February 10, 2025** – The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has emphatically denied speculation about reviving the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

This statement comes amidst circulating claims that authorities plan to reintroduce the unit through new reforms.

Police officials clarified today, stressing that no such reactivation exists in current security strategies.

They further urged the public to disregard misinformation and rely on verified updates from official channels.

Moreover, they want the public to understand that SARS does not exist anymore.

Police authorities confirmed dissolving the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) permanently on October 11, 2020, denying any operational revival plans.

Furthermore, officials labeled recent SARS reformation claims and proposed new engagement rules as entirely false, urging public vigilance against misinformation.

ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi confirmed SARS’ continued disbandment while advising Nigerians to verify sources before sharing unconfirmed reports.

Emphasizing information verification’s importance, he stressed its role in maintaining factual public discourse.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Police Force demonstrated transparency commitments through official channel advocacy.

Specifically, the NPF urged citizens to monitor these verified platforms for updates: – 𝕏 [@PoliceNG](https://twitter.com/PoliceNG) – Facebook [@ngpolice](https://facebook.com/ngpolice) – Instagram [@nigeriapoliceforce](https://instagram.com/nigeriapoliceforce).

This coordinated effort addresses misinformation risks while strengthening police-citizen communication channels through digital engagement strategies.

The Force reiterated its dedication to ensuring public safety and fostering trust between law enforcement agencies and the Nigerian populace.

Citizens are urged to remain vigilant and informed while disregarding unverified information that could incite unnecessary panic or confusion.

For further inquiries or updates, members of the public are encouraged to contact the Nigeria Police Force via their official platforms.
