Speaker Abbas condemns Plateau attacks

Abuja, Nigeria – April 5, 2025- The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D., GCON, has condemned the recent attacks in Plateau State.

He described these acts as senseless and barbaric, expressing deep concern for affected communities.

These brutal attacks targeted Ruwi, Manguna, Daffo, Josho, and Hurti in Bokkos Local Government Area.

Tragically, they resulted in significant loss of life and left many injured, including women and children.

In a heartfelt statement shared on March 4, 2025, Speaker Abbas conveyed his sorrow over the violence.

He emphasized the urgent need for action to prevent further bloodshed, stating that such incidents are “one too many.

“The reported attacks claimed many lives, with scores injured, mostly women and children,” the statement highlighted.

Speaker Abbas expressed his anger, reiterating that these actions are utterly senseless.

Furthermore, he extended condolences to the families of the victims and the people of Plateau State.

He urged security agencies to intensify their efforts to arrest and prosecute those responsible for these attacks.

The Speaker warned that allowing such acts to go unpunished could severely threaten peace and stability in the region.

He charged security agencies with the critical task of bringing the attackers to justice.

Additionally, Speaker Abbas prayed for divine comfort for grieving families.

He called upon the Almighty God to accept the souls of the deceased, reassuring residents that their safety remains a priority for the government.

As insecurity concerns grow, Speaker Abbas’s firm stance highlights the urgent need for decisive action.
