The Federal Government of Nigeria will present its transformative Renewed Hope Agenda for Land Administration at the 2025 World Bank Land Conference in Washington, D.C. Held from May 5–8, the event allows Nigeria to demonstrate its commitment to modernizing land governance.
This initiative aims to boost economic growth, improve housing, enhance climate resilience, and reduce poverty.
Leading the delegation, Housing Minister Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa and Permanent Secretary Dr. Shuaib Belgore will highlight Nigeria’s efforts to reform land administration.
Their presence underscores the nation’s focus on leveraging land management for prosperity.
Experts and policymakers will discuss solutions for equitable land access amid climate challenges under the theme “Securing Land Tenure and Access for Climate Action.”
On May 7, Minister Dangiwa will speak at a high-level panel titled “Global Land Governance and Tenure: A Call to Action.”
He will detail Nigeria’s National Land Titling, Registration, and Documentation Programme, which seeks to unify state-level systems into a national framework.
Key goals include digitizing records, cutting costs, securing tenure, and mobilizing ₦300 billion in idle land assets.
Before the conference, Dangiwa stressed the agenda’s potential, stating, “We are transforming land into a tool for empowerment and investment.
Every Nigerian, especially in underserved areas, should have secure land titles to foster growth.”
The delegation will also seek partnerships, explore digital solutions, and learn from global best practices.
With over 1,000 global attendees, the conference offers Nigeria a platform to showcase leadership in land reform.
