Enugu State is currently trending again after the lifeless bodies of four kids were found buried in a shallow grave near a church in Nsukka local government area of the State.
The gory discovery, News Band understand, was made by local youths.
The church, reportedly led by a clergyman known as Pastor Chinedu, has become the center of a police investigation.
Authorities are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths and the reasons behind the secret burial.
Residents are pointing accusing fingers at pastor Chinedu. The church, this medium gathered, has already been demolished by the authorities.
One resident, speaking on the development said: “Indeed, the heart of men is seriously wicked?”
Such sentiments reflect the deep sense of betrayal felt by many who considered the church a sanctuary.
Only a few days ago, a native doctor, popularly known as Ezeani, was arrested after he was accused of burying people alive for money rituals.
At least three corpses were found in a concrete pit near Ezeani’s mansion. One of the corpse was a pregnant woman who was found in a kneeling position.
The two bodies were said to be in sitting positions. Speculation was rife that the people were left to die underground by Ezeani for ritual purposes.
This line of reasoning was reinforced by a survivor, a 13-year-old girl abducted and taken to Ezeani’s compound.
She claimed they threw her into the pit and were covering it when she screamed with all her energy to attract vigilante men nearby.
They went over to the premises of Ezeani to discover the girl and other atrocities the man had committed.
Ezeani is currently with the police.
Meanwhile, Enugu State Police Command has urged anyone with information related to the latest incident to come forward.
They have assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway to bring those responsible to justice.
