The near steady electricity power supply situation in Uyo, the state capital has attracted plaudits from key politicians of the opposition All Progressives Congress in the state, key among them the spokesperson of the party Barr. Edet Eyo Bassey.
Since the commissioning of the injector power sub-station executed by the Udom Emmanuel-led administration, no one seems ready to be left out of the commendations trailing the over 18hours a day power supply in Uyo and its environs.
Barr Edet Eyo, the publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC in a radio interview in Uyo said Governor Emmanuel deserved thanks for saving him and thousands of others the stress of buying fuel every day for the purpose of fuel for their generating plants.
In his words, “Governor Udom Emmanuel has done very well in terms of electricity supply in Akwa Ibom State in the last few months.”
The APC image maker said, “It has really been improved at least from 3 hours that was the case before to about 15 to 18 hours per day now. I thank him for doing that because I no longer buy fuel to run generator.”
“We are really enjoying an improved power supply in Akwa Ibom State”…… Barr Edet Bassey, APC publicity Secretary said on Planet FM radio.
Another APC chieftain Obong Inibehe Otoho was more emotional in his outburst as he said, “whoever is responsible for this constant electricity at Shelter Afrique should be applauded. Small, small, we will get there.”
Otoho, a Computer Technology expert said, I had thought that it is only my children that will enjoy Nigeria. I have been proven wrong. I hope it continues. For weeks, electricity is interrupted for only 3 to 5 minutes whenever it happens!”
In his subsequent post, Chief Otoho said, “I did not know that so many people (especially government appointees) were reading my posts, till I mentioned the improvement of electricity at Uyo.”
