BREAKING: New IGP Retires 7 DIGs, Sends Nominees To PSC

The Acting Inspector-General of Police [IGP], Mr. Muhammed Adamu has forced all the Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (DIGs) to early retirement.

A source at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarter in Abuja revealed this to ElombahNews on Monday.

The retired DIGs are mainly his seniors in the service who worked under the former IGP Ibrahim Idris, who went to retirement on January 15.

The affected IGPS are:

  1. DIGs in charge of Finance & Administration, (Maigari Dikko);
  2. Operations (Habila Joshak);
  3. Information & Communications Technology (Emmanuel Inyang);
  4. Logistics & Supply (Agboola Oshodi-Glover);
  5. Research & Planning (Mohammed Katsina);
  6. Training & Development (Sani Mohammed), and,
  7. Federal Criminal Investigation & Intelligence (Peace Ibekwe-Abdallah).

Subsequently, IGP Adamu has sent the names of proposed new DIG’s to the Police Service Commission [PSC] for consideration and approval.

PSC is expected to announce the names of the DIGs later today after its plenary meeting.

It was gathered that the nominees include the Force Secretary, Taiwo Lakanu; former Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Chairman [EFCC], Ibrahim Lamorde, and four others.
