BREAKING: INEC Declares Uche Ekwunife Senator-Elect

The candidate of the People’s Democratic Party for Senate Anambra Central, Senator Uche Ekwunife has been declared the winner of the February 23rd Anambra Central Senatorial election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Declaring the result on Wednesday morning at INEC office Amawbia, the Returning Officer, Prof Charles Amobi Nwankwo stated that the candidate of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) having satisfied the requirements of the law by scoring the highest number of votes is returned-elected.

The PDP Candidate, Senator Uche Ekwunife won in all the seven local governments in Anambra Central.

RESULT ANALYSIS:

  • PDP – 118,484
  • APGA – 81,429
  • APC – 10,999

Senator Ekwunife defeated her closest rival, Senator Victor Umeh with a margin of 37,055 votes.
