President Buhari flags off petroleum industry ‘7 Big Wins’

Buhari attended the public presentation of the “7 Big Wins” (a Short and Medium Term Priorities to Grow Nigeria's Oil and Gas Industry, 2015-2019)

President Muhammadu Buhari, Thursday, attended the public presentation of the 7 Big Wins (Short and Medium Term Priorities to Grow Nigeria’s Oil and Gas Industry, 2015-2019) at the State House Conference Centre Abuja on 27th October, 2016.

President Buhari attended the presentation with Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Dr Ibe Kachikwu, Zamfara State Governor Abubakar Yari and Chairman House Committee on Petroleum Upstream Victor Nwokolo.

 ‘7 Big Wins’ is a roadmap for the development of Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.

The document contains the short and medium term priorities to grow the nation’s oil and gas industry from 2015 to 2019.

President Buhari said that although his administration is making concerted effort to diversify into agriculture and solid minerals, the petroleum sector still requires adequate attention.

The big wins include :

1. Niger Delta and security, 

2. policy and regulation, 

3. business environment and investment drive, 

4. transparency and efficiency, 

5. stakeholder management and international coordination,

6. gas revolution and,

7. refineries and production capacity.

The event held at the Banquet Hall of State House, Abuja.

Dignitaries present include Permanent Secretary Ministry of Petroleum Resources Mrs Jamila Shua’ra, GMD NNPC Maikanti Baru, Chairman House Committee on Petroleum Upstream Victor Nwokolo, Zamfara State Governor Abubakar Yari, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Dr Ibe Kachikwu, Amanyanabo of Twon Brass Bayelsa State HRM King Alfred Diete Spiff, Secretary to Government of Federation Babachir Lawal and Chairman Senate Committee on Gas Senator Albert Bassey

Also present were NNPC GMD, Maikanti Baru; the Amanyanabo of Twon Brass Bayelsa State, HRM King Alfred Diete Spiff; Secretary to Government of Federation, Babachir Lawal and Chairman Senate Committee on Gas, Senator Albert Bassey.
