(DDM) – The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a strong rebuke to Nigeria’s two dominant political parties, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), declaring that both have failed the nation.

Speaking in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, the ADC’s national chief whip, Mr. Festus Igbinoba, unveiled the party’s Delta State chapter with a rallying call for change.
He said the time had come to “rescue Nigeria from the shackles of its current economic challenges” and present the electorate with an alternative in the 2027 general elections.

According to Igbinoba, the APC’s performance in government has left the nation in disappointment, while the PDP has equally failed to meet the people’s aspirations over the years.
He said the ADC’s mission is to reposition Nigeria for a better future, urging members to spread the party’s message across their units, wards, and LGAs.

DDM gathered that the unveiling ceremony was attended by defectors from various political parties who pledged their loyalty to the ADC.
The turnout, according to Igbinoba, was a sign that the party is gaining momentum in Delta State.

Addressing the press after the event, Hon. Julius Efeni Akpovoka, the ADC coordinator in Delta Central, welcomed the new members as “automatic members” of the party.
He urged them to respect the party’s leadership and abide by its rules.

Akpovoka declared the ADC to be the only true opposition in Delta, stating that “by the special grace of God, ADC will take over Delta State and the national level because APC and PDP have disappointed us.”
He assured that the party would remain committed to ensuring Nigeria is repositioned for a better future.

The highlight of the event was the formal reception of new members from other political parties, symbolising the ADC’s growing base.

The party’s message reflects a broader political undercurrent as Nigeria edges toward the 2027 polls.
Many Nigerians have expressed frustration over persistent economic hardship, unemployment, and governance issues, fuelling interest in alternative political platforms.

While the ADC has yet to hold major national offices, its leadership believes the growing disillusionment with the APC and PDP presents a unique opportunity.
The challenge, political analysts note, will be translating growing interest into significant electoral victories.

The ADC’s unveiling in Delta comes amid similar grassroots mobilisation efforts in other states, suggesting a nationwide push to position itself as the third force in Nigerian politics.
