(DDM) – The Rotimi Amaechi Support Network (RASN) has launched state chapters in Enugu, Anambra, Delta, and Ebonyi, calling on Nigerians to back former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi in the 2027 presidential election.

The inauguration, held in Enugu on Tuesday, encouraged youths, market women, church leaders, and religious organizations to embrace Amaechi’s vision for a “New Nigeria” by 2027, according to RASN National Coordinator, Hon. IG Amaechi Okoro.

Amaechi reaffirmed his ambition to contest the 2027 election on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), declaring he would not step down for any aspirant during the party’s primary elections.

“I will contest the ADC presidential primary, and by God’s grace, I hope to win so that I can face Tinubu in 2027. I am not stepping down for anyone. Let the people decide who they want to lead,” Amaechi told journalists in Kano State following a meeting with a coalition of traders.

He stressed that the ADC must conduct an open and democratic primary, noting that internal democracy would strengthen the party and ensure credibility.

Amaechi criticized the administration of President Bola Tinubu, alleging widespread dissatisfaction with government policies and economic hardships across the country.

“Whether the government wants to conduct credible elections or not, one thing is certain, time is up. Nigerians are tired because no one is happy under Tinubu, not even in Rivers or across the South. People are suffering everywhere,” he said.

On political appointments, Amaechi argued that the government had not practiced genuine inclusion, rewarding only a few individuals close to the President while leaving many others across the regions dissatisfied.

When questioned about zoning in the ADC, he said the matter rested with party leadership but insisted he would remain in the race regardless of the outcome.

Amaechi described himself as one of the most qualified presidential contenders in the country, emphasizing that his candidacy promotes national unity, being a Southern leader with no regional conflicts.

He dismissed suggestions that his political influence in Rivers State had weakened due to Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, highlighting the massive turnout during a recent ADC inauguration in Rivers, which he said reflected strong popular support.
