Anambra 2025: Northern Women Back APC, Ukachukwu

Coalition of all Northern Women Groups resident in the 21 Councils of Anambra State have pledged unalloyed support for the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu in the forthcoming November 8, 2025, election.

According to their leader and spokesperson, Hajia Teni Yusuf, they saw Ukachukwu as one of theirs as he sees and relates to them as part of his own.

The women group who was visibly excited by the very warm reception he accorded them during their visit yesterday, pledged to give him one hundred percent of all their votes on November 8.

They also vowed to convince and mobilize members of their household, friends, neighbors and well-wishers to vote massively for APC/Ukachukwu to ensure a unique landslide victory in the November 8 poll.

Hajia Yusuf who led the zonal and Council representatives of the group on a solidarity support visit to Ukachukwu at his campaign headquarters in Awka, lamented that their lives have been a living hell since the incumbent mounted the saddle about four years ago.

She therefore appealed to all electorate and voters in the State’s 21 Councils and the 326 wards in the State to cast all their ballots for Ukachukwu (Ikukuoma – Wind of Glory).

The Women under the aegis of Northern Women Support Group for Ikukuoma and Iyom, regretted that most of Northern women resident in the State are jobless, poor and marginalized to the point that they don’t benefit from any of the programmes of the State government.

Yusuf disclosed that Ukachukwu lived most of his life in Northern part of the country and has sizeable investments in the North and lives there with his family.

She noted that he would understand their plight better than other contestants with big grammar and utopian agenda.

She described Ukachukwu as a coolheaded, detribalized Nigerian who stands between making Anambra State benefit more from the Federal Government than any other candidate, being same party with him.

Yusuf revealed that just like most of her members, she has spent over 35 years, born, grew up, schooled, married and had their babies in Anambra State.

She, therefore, stands better chance to explain the plight of her fellow women more.

According to her, most women in the group are not educated and don’t have jobs and as a result, they stay at home.

Going further, she said those who are educated don’t have jobs.

She, therefore, called on Ukachukwu to address their plight by providing credit and job opportunities for those educated and non -educated members, among others.

She said those who paid the solidarity visit were Northern Moslems and Christians who are living in Anambra State.

Her words: ”We came to pay solidarity support to Ikukuoma (Ukachukwu) campaign and Iyom because of his good nature.

“We would go from house to house and church/mosque to church/mosque to mobilize support for APC to win and meet our needs.

“We are both Christian and Moslems. We will mobilize support for him,” she concluded.”

Responding, Ukachukwu welcomed the Northern Women Support Group, describing them as being part of him and vice versa.

The APC candidate observed that most of them were born in Anambra State and would ensure he carries them along and do more for them, if elected.
