Human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore was seen in a marketplace located in Abuja, on Wednesday, mobilizing fresh protesters for the release of the self-styled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

Watch the video clip below:

It could be recalled that Sowore organised a protest on Monday, October 20, 2025, but when security operatives struck, he ran away.

However, Nnamdi Kanu’s Brother, Prince Kanu and his lawyer, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor were not fortunate as they were arrested.

Barrister Ejimakor and Prince Kanu are currently being held in detention at Kuje prison.

Confirming his whereabouts, Ejimakor tweeted:

“I am safe and sound but still under custody at Kuje prison.

“The Magistrate refused to listen to our submissions.

“He insisted on remanding us till Friday and got his way.

“For context: Keep in mind that they bypassed several Magistrate courts in town and headed to this one in Kuje.”

Selective Justice

Lamenting the ordeal of Ejimakor and Kanu, a concerned Nigerian, Mr. Wisdom Nwedene, lamented the seeming selective justice.

He said: “The same Sowore who organised the protest and ran away during arrest later visited Police Station to see those who were arrested including Nnamdi Kanu’s Brother and lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor.

“In fact, Sowore even did a video which he later shared online. He went there and came out freely. No arrest.

“Throughout yesterday, I kept asking myself the offense of Nnamdi Kanu’s Brother and his Lawyer Aloy Ejimakor.

“Is it not the same offense that Sowore also committed before running away and equally visited those arrested?

“I forgot, Nnamdi Kanu brother and Aloy Ejimakor are Igbos.

“Even Sowore in recent video said because he is a Yoruba, he can get away with many things.

“Should I start believing that statement now?

“Can someone explain the offense of Kanu’s Brother including the lawyer that Sowore didn’t participate in?”

Those arrested are currently waiting for their bail pleas to be heard before the court, which is expected to sit on Friday.
