Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has reaffirmed his administration’s loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.

Speaking during the flag-off of the APC North-East e-registration workshop in Maiduguri on Monday, Zulum described Borno as the party’s “undisputed stronghold.” The event was attended by top party stakeholders, including national and state executives, lawmakers, and local government chairmen.

Zulum pledged total support for the APC’s digital membership registration across the North-East region. He said his government would provide all the assistance needed for a smooth registration process.

“The Government of Borno State under my leadership will give every necessary support to ensure the success of the APC membership e-registration exercise,” Zulum said. “Our members in other states will also be assisted to get captured.”

The governor emphasized that Borno people remain loyal to the APC because of the party’s role in restoring peace and rebuilding the state after years of insurgency.

“Before the APC came to power, Borno was on its knees. Our economy collapsed, our people lived in fear, and many communities were under siege,” he said. “Today, the story has changed because of the APC-led Federal Government’s commitment to peace and development.”

Zulum praised former President Muhammadu Buhari for creating the North East Development Commission (NEDC), which, he said, played a key role in rebuilding destroyed communities. He also commended President Tinubu for sustaining federal support for Borno and the entire North-East.

“President Tinubu has shown strong commitment to restoring lasting peace and rebuilding livelihoods. The Federal Government is working closely with our administration to ensure displaced persons are resettled safely,” he added.

The governor further highlighted Borno’s pride in producing Vice President Kashim Shettima under the APC, saying it was proof of the state’s firm political relevance.

Zulum urged residents to begin early mobilization for President Tinubu’s re-election campaign, promising that Borno would deliver overwhelming votes for the APC in 2027.

“I call on the good people of Borno to join me in supporting President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. Let’s start building momentum now to secure continuity for his visionary leadership,” he said.

With the declaration, Zulum reaffirmed Borno’s status as a political fortress for the APC, emphasizing unity and loyalty ahead of the next general election.
