(DDM) – Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has declared Adamawa State as one of the most peaceful and stable states in Nigeria’s troubled North-East region.
Diaspora Digital Media DDM gathered that the governor made the statement while addressing stakeholders during a security and development briefing held at the Government House in Yola.
He emphasized that his administration’s commitment to justice, fairness, and security has significantly transformed the safety landscape across the state.
Governor Fintiri said that peace has returned to several communities that were once vulnerable to banditry, insurgency, and communal conflicts.
He explained that sustained military operations and community policing partnerships have contributed to the improved atmosphere enjoyed across the state.
According to him, Adamawa has become a model for what coordinated security collaboration can achieve in a region once plagued by instability.
He noted that the North-East has witnessed several security challenges in the past decade, particularly due to Boko Haram activities.
He added that Adamawa’s turnaround is a result of deliberate investments in security architecture and intelligence-driven operations.
The governor pointed out that local vigilante groups working with the police and military have played crucial roles in securing remote communities.
He stressed that his administration has prioritized justice and fairness as essential tools for reconciliation and long-term stability.
Fintiri stated that displaced families have gradually returned to their homes due to the improved safety environment.
He described these developments as evidence that Adamawa is on a path to stronger social and economic recovery.
The governor also highlighted the role of traditional rulers in fostering peace-building dialogues across various ethnic groups.
He explained that community engagement programmes have helped prevent clashes and promote harmony in previously tense areas.
The governor said Adamawa’s progress should be seen as a reminder that security is achievable when government and citizens work together.
He maintained that sustainable peace remains the bedrock of economic development and social cohesion.
He added that the state has recorded increased investor interest, especially in agriculture, commerce, and small-scale industries.
According to him, investors feel protected because security agencies have maintained consistent surveillance in high-risk locations.
Fintiri reassured residents that his administration will continue to prioritize safety, justice, and good governance.
He urged citizens to remain vigilant and supportive of ongoing security operations.
He also commended federal military units deployed to the state for their dedication and sacrifice.
