(DDM) – In a decisive move to strengthen grassroots coordination ahead of the 2027 general elections, supporters of Peter Obi have announced the formation of a Quad Steering Committee.

The newly established body brings together four major supporter groups: The Obidient Movement (OM), Big-Tent, Coalition for Protection of Democracy (COPDEM), and Coalition for Peter Obi (CPO). The committee is tasked with providing structure, discipline, and strategic alignment across these groups to ensure a united and effective campaign effort.
Speaking on behalf of the committee, Chairman Ibrahim H. Abdulkarim said the committee is not a political party organ and will not compete with any party structure. Its purpose is purely to coordinate supporter activities, maintain message discipline, and ensure the efficient use of resources across states and local structures.

“The Quad Steering Committee exists to translate strategic direction from Peter Obi’s team into actionable plans across all support groups,” Abdulkarim stated. He emphasized that the committee will prevent duplication of efforts while fostering unity of purpose, making the movement more impactful ahead of the elections.
The committee’s mandate includes receiving strategic priorities from Obi’s team, coordinating actions among support groups, ensuring focused messaging, and monitoring activities for accountability and results. It will also engage with state-level chapters to assign responsibilities and set frameworks for consistent implementation.

Abdulkarim urged all supporters to remain disciplined, respect coordination structures, and continue grassroots mobilization and advocacy in line with the shared objectives of Obi’s campaign. He further stressed that supporters should be ready to follow Peter Obi to the platform he chooses when the time comes, highlighting the need for strategic patience and organization.
This announcement comes at a critical period as political alliances and supporter mobilization are taking shape across the country.

DDM gathered that the Quad Steering Committee aims to consolidate Peter Obi’s influence in key regions, ensuring that every supporter effort contributes meaningfully toward the 2027 electoral strategy.
The committee calls on supporters to remain united, disciplined, and proactive, stressing that measurable progress will only come from coordinated actions under clear leadership. Abdulkarim noted that further communications and operational guidelines would be shared in due course to ensure all groups are aligned.
Observers have described the formation of the Quad Steering Committee as a pivotal step in formalizing Peter Obi’s campaign machinery. By creating a single coordination point, supporters hope to maximize their impact and avoid fragmentation, which has historically undermined political movements in Nigeria.
The establishment of this committee signals an intensifying focus on strategic clarity and operational efficiency among Obi’s supporters, as the campaign gears up for a competitive and highly contested electoral season.
