(DDM) – The North-Central APC Forum has officially rejected calls for the resignation of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

The forum highlighted Wike’s developmental achievements in the Federal Capital Territory as the primary reason for their continued support.

The statement was released on January 11, 2026, following a strategic meeting held at the APC Secretariat in Abuja.

Forum leaders underscored that Wike’s ongoing projects across infrastructure, education, and healthcare sectors reflect his unwavering commitment to the growth and modernization of the FCT.

They emphasized that the minister has delivered tangible results, including road construction, school renovations, and health facility upgrades that directly benefit residents of the territory.

According to the forum, the minister’s initiatives have strengthened governance, improved public services, and contributed positively to the socio-economic development of Abuja.

In their communiqué, the APC Forum urged political actors and stakeholders to prioritize collaboration and constructive engagement over unnecessary calls for resignation.

The forum argued that political unity and focused governance are more beneficial for the citizens than disruptions caused by resignations and political wrangling.

Leaders further stated that backing competent leadership, such as Wike’s, is crucial for sustaining development projects that require continuity and oversight.

The North-Central APC Forum called on all party members to support ongoing programs and maintain a unified front to achieve the party’s broader goals in the region.

The forum’s endorsement comes amid renewed debates and speculation in political circles regarding Wike’s future in the federal cabinet.

While some political commentators had suggested that Wike step aside, the forum insisted that such suggestions were unfounded and detrimental to the FCT’s development trajectory.
