A woman identified as Bola has reportedly died by suicide in the Ogba area of Lagos, leaving family members, colleagues, and neighbours in shock after a handwritten note believed to have been written shortly before her death was discovered.
The deceased was said to be an employee of Wado Credit & Co. and had reportedly been facing significant personal and financial challenges in recent months. Individuals who knew her described her as calm, hardworking, and reserved, making news of her death especially difficult for those close to her to comprehend.
According to sources within the neighbourhood, the incident occurred at her residence, where she was later found unresponsive after allegedly ingesting a poisonous substance. Emergency efforts to revive her were unsuccessful.
Authorities are reportedly investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident to determine the factors that may have contributed to the tragic outcome.
Particularly moving for many who have learned of the case is the note she is said to have left behind. Although its full contents have not been officially released, those who reportedly saw it said it reflected intense emotional distress, feelings of failure, and anxiety about the future.
Colleagues disclosed that in the weeks leading up to her death she appeared withdrawn and unusually quiet, though she continued to attend work regularly. Some noted that she rarely discussed personal matters and tended to keep her struggles private.
Neighbours similarly recalled that she often stayed indoors and avoided extended conversations, behaviour they did not initially view as cause for concern.
