Wispr Flow, an AI-powered tool that converts speech into clean, well-formatted text, has launched a standalone Android app. The service was previously available on Windows, macOS, and iOS.
The Android version is currently in early access. During this period, users can take advantage of free and unlimited use of the service.
Wispr Flow supports unlimited dictation, automatically inserts punctuation based on pauses and speech patterns, generates numbered lists, removes filler words, and corrects text in real time. For example, if a user says, “Meet at 16:00 — no, at 15:00,” the final output will instantly display “15:00.”
Unlike on iOS, the app does not replace the default keyboard on Android. Instead, it appears as a floating bubble when the user selects a text field. Tapping the bubble activates dictation. Thanks to deeper system-level integration on Android, Flow works across apps without requiring users to switch keyboards.
The service supports more than 100 languages, including Ukrainian. However, the Android version currently lacks several features available elsewhere, such as a built-in dictionary, voice templates for recurring phrases, customizable punctuation and capitalization styles for different apps, and advanced context recognition. The company says these features will be introduced in future updates.
Looking ahead, Android users may also need to subscribe to continue using the service. The paid plan costs $12 per month, while the free tier typically includes usage limits, such as word caps. At present, there are no restrictions on Android, but on iOS, free users are limited to 1,000 dictated words per week.
