President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday decorated Tunji Disu with his new rank as Acting Inspector-General of Police.
The ceremony took place at the State House in Abuja, with notable attendees including National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu and Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila.
Disu, a seasoned officer with over 30 years of experience, previously served as Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex in Lagos.
He’s known for his leadership as Commander of the Rapid Response Squad and his commitment to community policing.
The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Senate, and President Tinubu has expressed confidence in Disu’s ability to lead the police force amid current security challenges.
