Amaechi Challenges Tinubu, Urges Nigerians Back ADC Now

(DDM) – Former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi has declared that the ultimate goal of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is to build a better Nigeria founded on accountability, development, and people-centered governance.

The statement was amplified by the Rotimi Amaechi Mobilization Team (RAMT), which called for nationwide support as political realignments continue ahead of future elections.
Amaechi, who also served as Nigeria’s Minister of Transportation, stressed that political leadership must be measured by tangible impact on citizens’ lives rather than rhetoric.

He recalled that during his tenure as governor of Rivers State from 2007 to 2015, his administration implemented free education policies across public schools.
According to him, the initiative was designed to remove financial barriers preventing children from accessing quality learning opportunities.

He further noted that his government constructed free residential quarters for teachers to improve welfare and encourage commitment within the public education system.
Amaechi argued that such policies demonstrated practical governance focused on human capital development.
The former governor contrasted his record with ongoing national challenges, particularly in the power sector.
In a pointed remark, he urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to fulfill campaign promises related to electricity generation and supply.
“Let Tinubu provide the power he promised,” Amaechi was quoted as saying, underscoring persistent concerns about unstable electricity across the country.
Nigeria’s electricity crisis has remained one of the most pressing issues confronting successive administrations.

Despite reforms, privatization efforts, and tariff adjustments over the past decade, millions of Nigerians continue to experience erratic supply and frequent grid collapses.
The power deficit has significantly affected small businesses, manufacturers, and households dependent on reliable electricity.
Amaechi’s comments come at a time when public frustration over economic hardship, inflation, and unemployment remains high.
Political observers note that such statements may signal broader positioning within opposition circles seeking to reshape Nigeria’s political landscape.
The African Democratic Congress has been gaining attention as a platform for coalition building among politicians dissatisfied with mainstream party structures.
Supporters of Amaechi argue that his track record in infrastructure and education reform provides a blueprint for national transformation.
Critics, however, contend that Nigeria’s governance challenges require collective solutions beyond individual political figures.
Amaechi’s tenure in Rivers State was marked by significant infrastructure projects, including road construction and school rehabilitation programs.

His allies insist that these efforts demonstrate his administrative capacity and commitment to long-term planning.

Meanwhile, RAMT has intensified grassroots mobilization campaigns aimed at consolidating support across different regions of the country.

The group maintains that building a “better Nigeria” demands civic participation and electoral engagement at all levels.

As political conversations grow louder, questions remain about alliances, party structures, and the direction of opposition politics ahead of future elections.
For many Nigerians, the debate ultimately centers on governance outcomes rather than party labels.

Amaechi’s renewed public statements have therefore reignited discussions about leadership accountability, development priorities, and the path toward sustainable national progress.
