Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, is set to preach at Lambeth Palace, the official residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury, on Thursday as part of Nigeria’s ongoing state visit to the United Kingdom.
The engagement comes as President Bola Tinubu leads Nigeria’s first state visit to the UK in nearly four decades.
DDM reported that the President and the First Lady arrived in London on Tuesday via Stansted Airport.
During her visit, the First Lady is also scheduled to meet representatives of the Church of England.
According to the official programme, President Tinubu and his wife are expected to meet King Charles III, as well as the heir to the throne, Prince William, and Catherine, Princess of Wales.
The engagements will include a visit to Windsor, where the King is set to host a state banquet at Windsor Castle.
The visit follows a strategic partnership agreement signed between Nigeria and the UK in November 2024, aimed at boosting cooperation in trade, security, and migration.
Key issues expected to feature in discussions include British-backed port development projects in Nigeria and expanding bilateral trade, which reached £8.1 billion ($11 billion) in the year to September 2025 an increase of 11.4 percent year-on-year.
The visit is seen as a significant step in deepening diplomatic and economic relations between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
