Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has intensified the build-up to his upcoming celebrity boxing match against comedian and content creator Carter Efe, insisting the fight will go ahead as scheduled and predicting a swift victory.
The bout is set to take place on May 1 at the Federal Palace Hotel as part of the Chaos in the Ring 4 event. Despite claims that his opponent may be attempting to withdraw, Portable maintained that the fight is already locked in.
Speaking ahead of the event, Portable expressed full confidence in his preparation and dismissed any suggestion that the match might not happen. He stated that financial commitments have already been made, making it impossible for the fight to be cancelled.
Portable also made bold claims about how the match will unfold, saying he expects to finish the fight quickly. According to him, his past experience in celebrity boxing gives him an advantage going into the bout.
The singer has previously participated in exhibition fights, including wins over Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington, which he believes have strengthened his confidence and ring presence.
In the lead-up to the match, Portable has also criticized Carter Efe’s preparation, questioning his training setup and those assisting him. He referenced earlier encounters with individuals in his opponent’s circle, suggesting they would not be enough to prepare him for the fight.
The event itself is officially sanctioned by the Nigeria Boxing Board of Control and is being promoted by Balmoral Group Promotions in partnership with AK Promotions, a company linked to former world heavyweight champion Amir Khan.
Organisers have confirmed that the fight will be broadcast globally via DAZN, adding an international audience to what is already a highly publicized celebrity showdown.
