New Jigawa Police Commissioner Lists Seven Priority Areas

(DDM) – The newly appointed Commissioner of Police in Jigawa State, Haruna Alaba, has outlined seven key priority areas aimed at strengthening security and improving policing across the state.

The police chief disclosed this while addressing officers and stakeholders, emphasising the need for a proactive and intelligence-driven approach to law enforcement.

Among the top priorities highlighted is intelligence-led policing, which he described as critical to preventing crime and dismantling criminal networks.

He noted that effective intelligence gathering and analysis would enhance the ability of security agencies to respond swiftly to threats.

Community engagement was also identified as a major focus area, with the commissioner stressing the importance of building trust between the police and the public.

He warned against misconduct, stating that any personnel found engaging in unethical practices would face strict disciplinary action.

Improving response time to distress calls was also listed as a priority, with plans to enhance operational efficiency across commands.
