A man in the United States has been arrested after allegedly making repeated threats to kill President Donald Trump and confronting law enforcement with a sword.
According to report by NewYorkTimes, authorities identified the suspect as Andrew D. Emerald, who made several threatening posts on social media, including on Facebook, where he reportedly spoke about harming the president.
Some of the posts were said to contain graphic and violent language.
Investigators also say he threatened to kill officers who came to arrest him. When agents arrived at his home in Massachusetts, he was reportedly seen holding a sword, which led to a tense standoff before he was taken into custody.
He has been charged with multiple counts of making interstate threatening communications and pleaded not guilty when he appeared in court.
Officials also reported that additional weapons were found during a search of his home, and investigations are still ongoing.
