‘I Lost Two Sons to Police Brutality’ — OG Millan’s Mother Speaks

The mother of 28-year-old musician Oghenemine Ogidi, popularly known as OG Millan, says she has now lost two sons in separate encounters with the police.

Her account emerged during a condolence visit by activist Harrison Gwamnishu, who met with the grieving family and later shared a video of the moment on Instagram.

In the footage, the visibly distraught woman struggles through tears as she recounts her loss  a second tragedy she says has come under similar circumstances.

According to Gwamnishu, her first son was arrested at home in 2022 and later died in police custody.

Authorities at the time said he was killed during a gunfight, a version of events the family has continued to question.

Now, she says, history has repeated itself.

Her second son, Ogidi the artist known as OG Millan was reportedly shot by a police officer in Effurun, Delta State, sparking outrage and renewed concerns about police conduct.

“No mother should have to go through this twice,” Gwamnishu wrote while sharing the video, calling for accountability.

The latest incident has added to growing public anger over alleged extrajudicial killings, with many demanding a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the musician’s death.

For the family, however, the issue goes beyond headlines it is a painful reminder of loss that has struck the same home twice.
