Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has confirmed that he does not see himself staying at the club beyond the current phase of his contract, effectively ruling out the possibility of extending his stay at Old Trafford for another season.
The Brazilian midfielder made the remarks in an interview with ESPN, where he reflected on his time in England and expressed a clear intention to eventually bring his Manchester United career to a close on positive terms.
Casemiro stated that there is no possibility of him remaining at the club for an additional season, indicating that his decision on his future has already been made. He emphasized that his focus is now on ensuring he finishes his spell at the club in a professional manner while maintaining respect for the team, supporters and the institution as a whole.
The former Real Madrid star described his time at Manchester United as a meaningful chapter in his career, highlighting what he called four important years in which he experienced both challenges and memorable moments. He expressed deep appreciation for the club and its supporters, noting that the relationship he has built with fans in England will remain significant to him even after his departure.

According to him, his intention is to leave the club at the right moment, adding that he wants to “go out on top” and ensure that his exit reflects the respect he has for Manchester United. He stated that finishing his time at the club in good standing is important to him personally and professionally.
Casemiro also spoke warmly about the support he has received since joining the club, describing the Manchester United fan base as one of the most passionate he has encountered in his career. He added that regardless of where his future takes him, he will always maintain an emotional connection with the club and consider himself a supporter in spirit.
He further explained that his focus remains on contributing positively until his final day at the club, stressing the importance of professionalism and commitment while still wearing the Manchester United shirt. He said his priority is to ensure he leaves behind a positive impression both on and off the pitch.
The midfielder’s comments come amid growing speculation over his long-term future at Old Trafford, with reports linking him to potential moves outside Europe. Among the clubs reportedly monitoring his situation is Major League Soccer side Inter Miami CF, who are believed to be interested in adding experienced European players to strengthen their squad.
Inter Miami CF, known for its ambitious recruitment strategy and high-profile signings in recent years, is said to be exploring options in midfield as part of its long-term project. Casemiro’s experience at the highest level of European football, including his success in the UEFA Champions League with Real Madrid, makes him an attractive profile for clubs seeking leadership and stability in midfield.
Since arriving at Manchester United in 2022, Casemiro has played a key role in providing balance and experience to the squad. His leadership qualities and defensive presence were particularly important during transitional periods for the team. However, recent seasons have seen increased discussions around squad restructuring as the club continues to rebuild under evolving tactical directions.
Despite speculation surrounding his future, Casemiro has maintained that his immediate focus remains on giving his best for Manchester United. He reiterated that he intends to handle his eventual departure with professionalism and respect, ensuring that both the club and its supporters are acknowledged appropriately when the time comes.
Manchester United have not issued any official response regarding the midfielder’s comments, and it remains unclear whether the club is planning an immediate squad transition involving the Brazilian international or preparing for a gradual phase-out in line with his contract situation.
For now, Casemiro’s position signals the likelihood of an eventual departure from Old Trafford, bringing closer the end of a chapter that has seen him bring experience, leadership and pedigree to the Premier League side.
