ASABA, DELTA STATE, NIGERIA — The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced scheduled daily power outages across parts of Delta State between June 4 and June 16 to allow for essential maintenance work on a key transmission substation.
According to the announcement, the planned outages are necessary to enable engineers carry out routine upgrades and repairs aimed at improving the reliability and efficiency of power supply within the state and surrounding areas.
Residents in affected communities are expected to experience intermittent electricity disruptions during the maintenance period. However, the company assured that efforts will be made to minimise downtime and restore supply promptly after daily maintenance activities are completed.
The exercise forms part of ongoing infrastructure improvements within the national transmission network, which the TCN says is critical to strengthening power delivery and reducing system failures in the long term.
Officials explained that maintenance works of this nature are routinely conducted to ensure that transmission equipment remains in good working condition and to prevent unexpected system breakdowns that could lead to prolonged blackouts.
The company appealed to residents, businesses, and electricity consumers in Delta State for understanding and cooperation during the scheduled outages, noting that temporary inconvenience is necessary for long-term stability of power supply.
