ABUJA, Nigeria — Anambra, Kaduna, and Plateau states have achieved a 100 percent “Healthy” status in Nigeria’s Open Government Partnership (OGP) ranking, demonstrating their commitment to transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement in governance.
The ranking, released by the OGP Nigeria Secretariat, assesses states based on their implementation of open government principles, including fiscal transparency, access to information, citizen participation, and anti-corruption measures. Anambra, Kaduna, and Plateau emerged as the top-performing states, achieving the highest possible rating.
According to the report, the three states excelled in areas such as budget transparency, public procurement processes, and the establishment of citizen feedback mechanisms. They were also commended for their efforts to involve civil society organisations in governance and to ensure that government data is accessible to the public.
The OGP is an international initiative that promotes open government principles, with Nigeria joining as a member in 2016. The ranking serves as a tool to encourage states to adopt reforms that enhance transparency and accountability in public administration.
