Rising artist Fola has shared a candid account of his journey into the music industry, highlighting the struggles, opportunities, and near-breakthrough moments that shaped his path.
According to Fola, his story began under modest circumstances while working at a betting shop, a period marked by limited resources, including not owning a phone. Despite this, he remained determined to pursue his passion for music. With the support of a friend who would visit him at work, he began creating and posting videos on Instagram, gradually building visibility.
His turning point came when a cousin took him to Lagos to record songs, opening the door to more serious opportunities in the industry. He later secured a deal connected to the management of Mohbad, which further elevated his exposure and network.
Fola also revealed that his journey brought him into contact with Bella Shmurda, who played a significant role by introducing him to Kizz Daniel with the intention of securing a record deal. Although the deal ultimately did not materialize, Fola described the experience as a pivotal moment that reinforced his belief in his talent and future prospects.
His story underscores the unpredictable nature of the music industry, where persistence, relationships, and timing often determine success.
