Liverpool Target Monaco Winger As PSG Pursuit Faces Transfer Delay

LIVERPOOL, England — Liverpool have reportedly entered the race to sign AS Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche as the Premier League club looks to strengthen its attack ahead of the new season.

The reported interest comes as Liverpool continue plans to reshape their forward line following Mohamed Salah’s departure, with the club prioritising the recruitment of a right-sided attacking player during the summer transfer window.

Manager Andoni Iraola is understood to be seeking additional options in attack after acknowledging the need for further reinforcements, while Liverpool continue to assess several potential transfer targets.

Akliouche has emerged as one of the leading names under consideration after impressing with Monaco in the French Ligue 1.

The French international is also a reported target for Paris Saint-Germain, although negotiations between the French champions and Monaco are believed to have slowed in recent weeks.

Reports indicate that Monaco have rejected multiple offers for the winger and continue to value the player at approximately €50 million, a figure PSG have so far been unwilling to match.

Liverpool are now reported to have made an official enquiry as they explore the possibility of securing the 24-year-old’s signature before their European rivals reach an agreement.

The Premier League club is believed to be hoping that the stalled negotiations between Monaco and PSG could create an opportunity to persuade the winger to move to Anfield.

Akliouche enjoyed another productive campaign with Monaco last season, scoring seven goals and providing 11 assists in 43 appearances across all competitions.

The winger is recognised for operating primarily on the right side of attack while using his stronger left foot, a profile similar to the role previously occupied by Salah during his successful spell at Liverpool.

Club officials are understood to view his creativity, technical ability and attacking versatility as qualities that could strengthen Liverpool’s frontline as the team prepares for a new chapter.

Liverpool have also been linked with several other attacking players during the current transfer window as the club continues to evaluate options capable of adding pace, creativity and goal contributions.

Meanwhile, PSG’s pursuit of other attacking targets has reportedly slowed as negotiations continue over transfer valuations, creating uncertainty around several potential deals involving the French champions.

Although discussions remain at an early stage, Akliouche is expected to remain one of the most closely watched players in the transfer market as Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain continue efforts to strengthen their attacking options before the window closes.
