The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has added 10 Nigerians to the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) “Worst of the Worst” register for immigrants arrested over various alleged criminal offences.
The latest list, published on the official DHS website, includes Nigerians linked to offences ranging from fraud and identity theft to child-related and drug offences.
The individuals and offences listed against them are:
- Temitope Bashua — wire fraud, identity theft and fraud — Allenwood, Pennsylvania.
- Ojehoro Lewis — cruelty towards a child — Conroe, Texas.
- Osemudiamen Kingsley Oziegbe — wire fraud — Louisville, Kentucky.
- Daniel Oworen — dangerous drugs — Conroe, Texas.
- Raymond H. Ekevwo — wire fraud — Oxford, Wisconsin.
- Franklin Dikeocha — child sex offence involving fondling — Dallas, Texas.
- Johnson Ogunlana — fraud and identity theft — White Deer, Pennsylvania.
- Chukwuemeka Okorocha — wire fraud, dangerous drugs, possession of a weapon and aggravated assault involving a non-family gun — Allenwood, Pennsylvania.
- Tunde Korede — conspiracy — Allenwood, Pennsylvania.
- Chukwuemeka Chinye — larceny from a banking-type institution, fraud, larceny, identity theft and conspiracy — Pollock, Louisiana.
DHS said the register was created to highlight what it describes as the “worst of the worst criminal aliens” arrested by ICE.
The department said the arrests and deportation drive were part of President Donald Trump’s immigration enforcement agenda.
The new names come after DHS published another list in July containing 124 Nigerians arrested by ICE and identified on the same “Worst of the Worst” register.
The July list included the names and photographs of the Nigerians, who were linked to various criminal offences.
However, the publication did not provide specific dates for their deportation.
The latest update also does not state when the 10 Nigerians will be deported.
It identifies them as individuals arrested by ICE and lists the offences associated with their cases.
The 10 names in the latest update were also not among the 124 Nigerians included in the July publication.
The latest DHS list, therefore, does not indicate that the 10 Nigerians have already been deported or provide a specific deportation timeline.
