Newcastle United have reached an agreement with Lille to sign highly rated Belgian forward Matias Fernandez-Pardo in a deal worth €60 million plus add ons, with the 21 year old now set to complete his move to St James’ Park.

The 2025/26 season was particularly significant for Fernandez-Pardo. He made 29 Ligue 1 appearances for Lille and scored eight goals, while recording five assists according to available statistical data. Across all competitions, he finished the campaign with 41 appearances and eight goals.
His performances also earned him international recognition. Fernandez-Pardo represents Belgium at senior level and has collected five caps since making his international breakthrough in 2026. He was also included in Belgium’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, giving him experience on one of football’s biggest stages despite his young age.
One of Fernandez-Pardo’s biggest strengths is his versatility. Although primarily regarded as a forward, he can operate across the attacking line and has the ability to play from either flank or through the middle.
