Nollywood actress Sharon Ooja Nwoke has opened up on Arise Tv News about the demanding experience of working on the film Ordinary People, describing the project as one of the toughest productions she has taken on.
Ooja said the role and the overall experience placed significant mental demands on her, making the film particularly challenging.
“‘Ordinary People’ was one of the toughest films I’ve worked on. It was mentally draining,” she said.
The actress’s comments have drawn attention to the often-overlooked emotional demands of acting, particularly when performers take on roles that require them to repeatedly engage with difficult or emotionally intense situations.
For actors, preparing for such roles can involve more than memorising lines and performing scenes, as they may also have to access complex emotions and maintain them throughout production.
Ooja, who has become a recognised face in Nollywood through her work across film and television, did not disclose specific details about what made Ordinary People particularly difficult for her in the statement.
Her remarks, however, have sparked curiosity among fans about the film and the nature of the role that left her describing the experience as mentally draining.
The actress’s comments also offer a glimpse into the pressures actors can face behind the scenes, where emotionally demanding performances can continue to affect them beyond the camera.
