ABUJA, NIGERIA — The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, through its retail subsidiary, NNPC Retail, has announced a ₦66-per-litre discount on petrol purchases at its filling stations nationwide as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
The company said motorists can enjoy the discount between October 1 and October 7, 2026, provided they purchase Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) through the NNPC Fuel App.
NNPC Announces Independence Promotion
NNPC Retail announced the promotion on Wednesday through its verified social media platform, inviting motorists across the country to take advantage of the seven-day offer.
Under the promotion, customers will receive a ₦66 reduction for every litre of petrol purchased at participating NNPC Retail stations during the promotional period.
The company said the initiative forms part of its activities to commemorate Nigeria’s Independence Anniversary and provide motorists with temporary relief on petrol purchases.
How Customers Can Qualify
Motorists who want to benefit from the discount must download and use the NNPC Fuel App when purchasing petrol.
The company stated that customers cannot access the promotional offer without using the designated application for their PMS purchases.
NNPC Retail directed interested motorists to download the NNPC Fuel App through the link provided in its announcement.
The company said the promotion will begin on October 1 and end on October 7, giving customers seven days to participate.
Discount Applies To Petrol Purchases
The promotion covers Premium Motor Spirit, commonly known as petrol, purchased at NNPC Retail stations across Nigeria.
Under the arrangement, customers will receive a ₦66 discount on each litre purchased during the promotion.
For example, a motorist purchasing 20 litres of petrol would receive a total discount of ₦1,320, subject to the terms and conditions of the promotion and the applicable pump price.
