KADUNA, NIGERIA — The General Officer Commanding 1 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Abubakar Wase, has honoured three departing senior officers. He commended them for their professionalism and loyalty.
The ceremony took place on Thursday at the 1 Division Headquarters in Kaduna. The officers were honoured with a farewell parade.

“We are grateful for the training and support we received. We will always be proud of our service,” Yusuf said.
What This Means
The retirement of senior officers is a routine part of military service. It creates opportunities for younger officers to rise.
The Nigerian Army has been active in combating insecurity across the country. The departing officers were part of these efforts. Their experience will be missed.
What Happens Next
The officers will proceed on terminal leave. They will later be formally retired from the Nigerian Army.
For now, the division will continue its operations. The GOC urged the remaining officers to remain focused. He said the fight against insecurity is not over.
