Labour party group condemns APC spokesperson’s threat against Nigerians

The Alliance for All Labour Party Professionals and Stakeholders has strongly criticized the spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, over what it describes as “undisguised threats” to citizens.

Morka, during a recent interview on Arise Television, allegedly threatened to forward a list of over 400 Nigerians to security agencies, sparking outrage among political observers and opposition groups.

The information made available to Diaspora digital media (DDM) in a statement signed by the group’s convener, Dr. Blessing Elaigwu, the alliance expressed disappointment at Morka’s failure to apologize for his earlier remarks targeting Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Instead, the APC spokesperson reportedly deflected attention by citing what the alliance termed “non-existent achievements” of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

“It is shameful that rather than retract his reckless comments, Morka chose to double down with fresh threats, clearly aimed at intimidating Nigerians,” the statement read.

“This action underscores the ruling party’s fear of an imminent backlash at the ballot box in 2027.”

The group described the Tinubu-led government as presiding over unprecedented poverty and inequality, which have become hallmarks of its administration.

It accused the APC of attempting to stifle dissent and silence critics, warning that such authoritarian tendencies are bound to fail.

“Only those within the inner circle of this administration can deny the devastating impact of its policies on Nigerians.

“Citizens have suffered enough under this government’s institutionalized impoverishment and are ready to vote the APC out of power,” Elaigwu said.

The statement also drew parallels between Nigeria’s current state and Ghana’s history of democratic resurgence, suggesting that Nigerians may soon follow suit in demanding better governance.

Elaigwu urged the APC to abandon its alleged authoritarian tactics and respect the rights of Nigerians to free expression.

“If Morka and his allies envision a future of authoritarian rule, they should prepare to expand prisons and recruit more wardens, as Nigerians will not be silenced,” the statement warned.

The Labour Party group called on Nigerians to remain steadfast in their resolve to demand accountability and resist any attempts at intimidation.

“The APC must come to terms with the reality that Nigerians are fed up and are ready to reclaim their nation from misrule.”

This development has further fueled political tensions, with observers highlighting the growing unease ahead of the 2027 general elections.
