NDDC Rep Nkono reviews scorecard, highlights Commission’s strides in Akwa Ibom

Apostle Abasiandikan Nkono, the Akwa Ibom State representative on the board of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has presented his scorecard, highlighting the commission’s achievements in the state.

According to him, the NDDC has embarked on a massive electrification project across Akwa Ibom State and other Niger Delta states, tagged “Operation Light Up the Niger Delta.”

The project, he said, aims to provide solar-powered lights to all communities in the region, enhancing security and economic activities.

Apostle Nkono revealed that his office has endured six projects are approved for Akwa Ibom State, including a pavilion for Akwa Ibom State University, a community hall at Midim, Abak Local Government Area, a 10,000-litre solar-powered water system for Ibiono Ibom LGA, teachers’ quarters at Federal Polytechnic, Essien Udim LGA, NYSC quarters in Uyo LGA, and road projects in Eket LGA.

He commended the management team and board of the commission for their commitment to developing the Niger Delta region.

The State Rep also praised the commission’s efforts in addressing the challenges facing the region, stating that the NDDC has been working tirelessly to improve the lives of the people.

Apostle Nkono also addressed the issue of unfinished projects in the state, explaining that the Commission has been working to complete all ongoing projects.

He also spoke on the NDDC’s Christmas welfare package, emphasizing that the initiative is a privilege, not a right.

Furthermore, he debunked allegations that he received ₦120 million for Niger Delta groups in December 2024 as well as 500 bags of rice during the festive season.

Urging concerned individuals to verify information from credible sources, Nkono emphasized his commitment to integrity and transparency

He also emphasized the importance of verifying information before spreading it, stating that false information can cause harm to individuals and organizations.
