Pastor Paul Enenche, Senior Pastor at Dunamis International Gospel Centre in Abuja, has vowed to continue pursuing a defamation, criminal conspiracy and cyber bullying case against his brother, Peter Enenche, who is also pastor in the church.

But he has dropped the cyberbullying and criminal defamation case against another of his brother, Alexander Enenche, and former presidential aide, Reno Omokri.

Background of the Case

The controversy began when he accused his brother, Alexander, and Reno Omokri of defaming his character through social media posts.

The pastor alleged that the duo had engaged in cyberbullying and criminal defamation, prompting him to file a complaint with the police.

Consequently, the police secured a remand warrant from the Chief Magistrate Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Wuse Zone 6, Abuja, to detain the suspects.

Alexander Enenche, Reno Omokri, Abraham Daniel, and Peter Enenche were arrested and detained in connection with the allegations.

In a surprise move, Pastor Enenche’s legal team applied to withdraw the charges against Alexander and Reno.

The court granted the application without objection from the defense counsel, effectively discontinuing the case against the duo.

Court Drama: Heated Argument and Adjournment

The case took a dramatic turn when Chief Magistrate Emmanuel Iyanna abruptly adjourned the case to February 7, 2025, for the hearing of the bail motion.

The magistrate insisted that a formal written motion for bail be submitted, contrary to his earlier decision permitting an oral application.

The adjournment came after a heated argument erupted between the defense lawyers and an officer of the Nigerian Correctional Service, who attempted to seize a phone from the lawyer within the court premises.
