Iran rejects nuclear weapons allegations, criticizes U.S. pressure strategy
DDM News

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, during a meeting with foreign diplomats in Tehran on Thursday, reiterated Iran position.
According to Diaspora digital media (DDM) reports, he emphasized that Iran is not seeking nuclear weapons.
Pezeshkian dismissed recent calls from U.S. President Donald Trump for a new agreement to prevent Iran from obtaining them.
Speaking in front of diplomats, Pezeshkian said, “We are not seeking nuclear weapons, and verifying this is easy.”
He also emphasized Iran’s commitment to transparency regarding its nuclear program.
Pezeshkian’s comments followed Trump’s statements on Wednesday.
Trump urged for a “verified nuclear peace agreement” with Iran.
Trump also stressed that Iran “cannot have a nuclear weapon.”
These comments were part of Trump’s reintroduction of his “maximum pressure” policy on Iran.
This policy aims to isolate Iran diplomatically and impose severe sanctions.
Trump’s policy accuses Iran of attempting to develop nuclear weapons, which Iran denies.
In his address, Pezeshkian sharply criticized the reimposition of the maximum pressure strategy.
He warned that such tactics would ultimately result in failure.
The Iranian president reminded his audience of similar efforts during Trump’s first term.
Trump’s first term saw the U.S. withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear deal, the JCPOA.
This agreement imposed strict limits on Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief.
Iran initially adhered to the deal after the U.S. withdrawal in 2018.
However, Tehran began reducing its commitments a year later as the agreement unraveled.
Efforts to revive the JCPOA have stalled over the years.
The future of diplomatic negotiations remains uncertain.
Pezeshkian reaffirmed Iran’s position that nuclear weapons contradict the country’s ethical and religious principles.
He pointed out that the use of nuclear weapons goes against the doctrine of the Islamic Republic.
Pezeshkian added that “massacring innocent people is not acceptable” within the country’s worldview.
Iran has repeatedly denied any intention to acquire nuclear weapons.
It positions itself as a proponent of peace in the region.
Pezeshkian’s comments show frustration with U.S. policies and increasing international pressure on Tehran.
He emphasized that Iran’s nuclear program is peaceful, intended solely for energy and medical uses.
Pezeshkian stressed that the allegations of Iran developing nuclear weapons are baseless.
The Iranian president also called for international cooperation to avoid escalating tensions.
He urged the global community to focus on dialogue rather than coercive measures.
Pezeshkian emphasized that lasting peace and stability in the region can only come from diplomatic engagement.
He pointed out that increasing diplomatic isolation and sanctions only make matters harder to resolve.
Iran’s approach focuses on cooperation rather than confrontation.
Tehran has expressed a willingness to return to negotiations.
However, it insists the U.S. must first lift sanctions and return to the JCPOA’s terms.
The Biden administration has shown interest in reviving the nuclear deal.
However, progress in negotiations has stalled, continuing to fuel tensions between the two countries.
Pezeshkian’s remarks reflect Iran’s strategy of resisting U.S. pressure while reaffirming its commitment to peaceful nuclear energy.
The deadlock over the nuclear issue has raised global concerns.
Many wonder if the diplomatic impasse will lead to further instability in the Middle East.
For now, Iran remains firm in its stance that it does not seek nuclear weapons.
However, its frustration with U.S. policies and commitment to a peaceful nuclear future are clear.
Pezeshkian argued that the international community should focus on dialogue rather than increasing sanctions.
Iran continues to assert its right to peaceful nuclear energy and rejects the development of weapons of mass destruction.
