Imo: Commissioner Uchegbu hosts Brigade Commander Abbas

The federal Commissioner representing Imo state in the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Hon. Dr Kyrian Uchegbu has hosted the Commander 34 Artillery Brigade Obinze, Gen. Ibrahim Abbas in his office on Port Harcourt road Owerri Imo state.

The visit was for the newly posted Commander to familiarize himself with the federal Commissioner representing Imo state in the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC.

This was contained in release of Monday 25th February 2025 from the Media/Public Affairs office of the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC Owerri.

The Release states: “The newly posted Brigade Commander of the 34 Field Artillery Brigade Obinze, Brig Gen. Ibrahim Abbas alongside the paraphernalia of the Brigade has today, the 25th February, 2025 paid a historic familiarization visit to the Federal Commissioner, representing Imo State in the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC Board in his office along PortHacourt road Owerri.

The New Commander however commended the Federal Commissioner, Hon Dr Kyrian Chidiebere Uchegbu for his sterling leadership quality in sitting some life enhancing projects which he has visibly seen within the Command community.

He also noted that the imposing fantabulous solar street lights which has ostensibly added to the aesthetic outlook of the bridge environment, most especially at night is very conspicuous..

The Brigade Commander further noted that he’s on familiarization visit to all the government agencies and institutions relevant to the command in Imo State.

On the other hand, Brig Gen Abbas solicited for more Infrastructural amenities from the interventionist Agency.

In his response, Hon Dr Uchegbu who appreciated their visit , assured them of the presence and impact of the commission in the community within the Brigade Command.

The highlight of the familiarization visit was the official presentation of the Award of Friendship by the New Commander, Brig. Gen Ibrahim Abbas to the Federal Commissioner, Hon Dr Kyrian Chidiebere Uchegbu,A plaque of Friendship in recognition of what he has done and what he will do in time to come”, the statement concluded.

Recall that Hon Dr Kyrian Uchegbu has as part of his developmental agenda been installing Solar lights in many communities in Imo state and oil producing communities in particular.
