RRB announces recruitment for 9,970 ALP vacancies

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has launched a massive recruitment drive for the position of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP).

Diaspora digital media (DDM) revealed that a total of 9,970 vacancies have been announced across various railway zones under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India.

According to the official notification, the online application process will commence soon.

The recruitment aims to fill ALP positions in different regions, and detailed vacancy distribution has been provided in the official notification.

Interested candidates are advised to regularly visit the official website for updates.

Eligibility criteria for RRB ALP recruitment 2025

Educational qualification

Applicants must have passed Class 10 and hold an ITI certificate from an NCVT/SCVT-recognized institute in specific trades.

These trades include Fitter, Electrician, Instrument Mechanic, Mechanic (Radio/TV), Electronics Mechanic, Wireman, Turner, Machinist, and Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic.

Alternatively, candidates who have passed Class 10 and obtained a three-year diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Automobile Engineering from a recognized institution are also eligible.

Age limit

The minimum age requirement for applicants is 18 years, while the upper age limit is set at 30 years.

Selection process for RRB ALP recruitment 2025

The selection process will be conducted in multiple stages.

Candidates will go through the following five phases before final selection:

1. Computer-Based Test (CBT) – Stage 1

2. Computer-Based Test (CBT) – Stage ll

3. Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

4. Document Verification

5. Medical Examination

The Railway Recruitment Board has informed that candidates who have already applied will be allowed to modify their choices once further details are released.

Application fee

Candidates belonging to Female, EBC, SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, Transgender, and Minority categories must pay an application fee of ₹250.

For all other applicants, the application fee is set at ₹500.

The 9,970 vacancies are distributed among various railway zones as follows:

Central Railway – 376

East Central Railway – 700

East Coast Railway – 1,461

Eastern Railway – 768

North Central Railway – 508

North Eastern Railway – 100

Northeast Frontier Railway – 521

Northern Railway – 679

North Western Railway – 989

South Central Railway – 568

South East Central Railway – 796

South Eastern Railway – 510

Southern Railway – 759

South Western Railway – 885

Metro Railway Kolkata – 225

How to apply for RRB ALP recruitment 2025

1. Visit the official website of RRB.

2. Locate and click on the link for CEN 2025 – Assistant Loco Pilot Recruitment.

3. Register by providing the necessary details, then log in to complete the application form

4. Upload the required documents and proceed with the payment of the application fee.

5. Review the application form before submitting it.

6. Download and save the completed form for future reference.

The Railway Recruitment Board plays a vital role in recruiting personnel for Indian Railways, ensuring efficient operations across the country.

The demand for Assistant Loco Pilots has increased due to expanding railway networks and the need for skilled professionals in train operations.

To maintain smooth railway services, the Ministry of Railways has initiated this recruitment process to fill vacant ALP positions.
