BREAKING: Prof. Soludo emerges winner in APGA’s Governorship primaries

The governorship primaries of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, and the incumbent Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo emerged winner.

The primaries which was to determine the Governorship candidate for Anambra State Governorship elections on November 8, 2025, was held at the Dr Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, Anambra State.

Details of the 3,260 delegates:

  • Accredited, 3,175.
  • Votes cast, 3,172,
  • invalid votes 4,
  • yes votes 3,168, no votes 0

Gov. Soludo emerged winner with the yes votes count, as the sole Governorship candidate for the November, 2025, Governorship elections in Anambra State.

In his appreciation speech, the elated Soludo said good governance has come to the State, through APGA.

He reeled out the projects which his administration has carried out for the good of the State.

He said more was going to come through his administration, for the State.

In his words, “We will continue this trajectory, higher and higher and higher, and higher.”

He promised not to let th people of Anambra down. Soludo assured that the vote of everyone at the primaries will not be taken for granted.

Just before he rounded up his speech, he announce Onyeka Ibezim as his running mate, and deputy governorship candidate in the forthcoming governorship elections.

Both men raised their hands to indicate the strong bond between them, and the readiness to take office again come November, 2025.
