Trump says US. has begun nuclear talks with Iran

US President Donald Trump on Monday, April 7, 2025, met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the White House to discuss Iran, Gaza and tariffs.

Trump disclosed that the US is having direct talks with Iran, adding that they will have a “very big meeting” on Saturday

The president vehemently declared that Iran had no stance to possess. In hiss words, Trump said Iran “can’t have a nuclear weapon.”

He added that if the talks on Saturday do not go well, Iran will be in “trouble.”

Speaking on the issue of hostages in Gaza, Trump emphasized that they are working on a new deal to return hostages.

Trump says he is “trying very hard to get the hostages out” of Gaza.

He says that the US is “looking at another ceasefire, we’ll see what happens”.

This follows the breakdown of a fragile ceasefire with Hamas.

Trump adds that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is “working very, very hard” on freeing the hostages, and is doing a great job.

“I have a good partner,” interjects Netanyahu.

On his part, Prime Minister Netanyahu said they are formulating an economic deal after Trump placed 17% tariffs on Israel.

When asked if he would reduce Israel’s 17% tariff Trump evaded the question.

“We give Israel billions of dollars a year,” Trump says, not directly answering the question.

“We take care of our friends,” he added.

Netanyahu says it will take years to rebuild Gaza following years of war.

He adds that Trump has a vision for Gaza and the pair are working on it.
